All the Dead Lie Down by Kyrie McCauley
4.0
As one of my most anticipated books of the year, I was worried it would disappoint, but it did not ( it didn’t however exceed my expectations)
I really enjoyed the whole gothic vibe to the story as well as Wren and Thea’s freaky pranks
I did have an issue with the pace of the book, in the beginning everything went so fast, but in the middle it was a little boring and slow. I just think the author could’ve spaced it out a little better
And sometimes the writing bothered me, there’s this thing when an author is trying to express something unexpected that’s happened, and they put that like sentence on its own not in a paragraph, and I really think that’s cool and makes the reader shocked at times, but the author did it so much that it started to loose its meaning
What really saved this book was free ending, I LOVED the ending. When we found out that Alice had kept dying and when she drowned Cordelia as a kid I was shocked. And how her stories had a little bit of truth in them. And then when Charles was alive and all the bones came alive was sooo creepy I loved it
Definitely recommend
