Pivot: The Only Move That Matters is Your Next One by Jenny Blake

3.0

Listened via Hoopla, read by the author.

As always a self-help book is good to read every once in a while, if just to remind you to think more about how your life is going.

That said, I am not the target audience at this point in my life. This focuses on career pivoting and I'm happy with where I am right now. In fact, I'm not sure if this is a good book for anyone right now considering the COVID-19 stuff.

Things that were a little weird: Blake kept referring to the audience of the book as "impacters" in their organizations/the world/etc. Taking on a title like that just seems a bit haughty. I know I don't want to hang around the kind of people who self-identify as "impacters." Also, there was a reference to "honey holes" that was serious and not a sexual innuendo which kind of through me off. You have to be careful when you're writing professional books in the time of the Internet! ;)

This book might be more helpful at a different time in my life- I'm not at a pivot stage, but if you are, the exercises might be useful to you.
