Estate agent Alex finds a great new flat for her and her best friend. Her boyfriend is about to begin a short program overseas to improve his art, but when she returns from a surprise visit to see his art show with his family, her world begins to crumble. And with her best friend smitten with the guy across the hall, the only person she can talk to is his roommate, Callum, a dreadfully dull man.

Callum is a tech guy, a white hat hacker, someone who uses his skills for good. He's not great with social settings and is uncomfortable around people he doesn't know well, and he finds comfort in music. Callum is basically my husband. I know he'll come off as weird to a lot of readers but I think I understood him pretty well and felt happy about the people he welcomed into his life genuinely caring about him.
