What a beautiful, heartbreaking, inspiring, and thoughtful novel. When I read the synopsis, I wasn’t sure this would be a book for me - Hollywood drama simply isn’t my cup of tea. But as soon as I met Evelyn Hugo, I fell head over heels in love with her - just like everyone else. The characters in this novel are some of the most complicated and real people that I’ve seen in a fiction novel in some time, and I was absolutely swept away in every emotion they experienced. From the modern day story of Monique interviewing an old Starlet for her magazine, to the flashbacks of Evelyn’s rise to stardom, I found myself completely immersed in this story.
