A book read as part of my banned book series. what a book aimed dystopian the where books are banned and if found are burned by firemen. It's especially relevant in today's society with the obsession to ban books, which, for me, is totally horrible. It tends to alternate in style from basic storytelling to beautifully poetic, which is intentional by the author. It's a classic book for a reason, and I am delighted to have read it. It stands up on its own, and other books have totally been written on the back of this book. There are some parts of the book that date it and wouldn't be written today, but I read it in that context, so it wasn't as jarring as it could have been. The main theme is censorship, plus the brain washing of media, with technology being used as propaganda. Overall, it is a thought-provoking, timely book that makes you wonder the why.
Graphic: Child death, Death, Suicide, Car accident, Suicide attempt, Murder, Fire/Fire injury, War
