Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton

5.0

The other half had been trying to get me to read this one and I can’t believe it took me forever to do so. What a treat, Michael Crichton really was a great writer of sci-fi thrillers.

Having not watched the film in years, the book walked me through memory lane and there were definitely some differences.

And i actually found the book heaps better. It was thrilling to read and I couldn’t put it down. The science bits were very cool but still very accessible. Admittedly, the science also sets out the timing of the novel - but it also makes you revel in the progress we’ve made, particularly with DNA and genome sequencing. The imagery was vivid, but there was also plenty of space to exercise one’s imagination.
