I liked many things about this book (especially their email conversation, too bad there was just one), but what bothers me in romance books is that the pacing of a relationship seems so off/unrealistic (at least to me) and they tend to be heavy on the sexual intercourse and less on the actual in-depth conversations (repeatedly) that build actual trust and connection. Not necessarily a Hibbert-specific critique, but definitely a romance-critique. BUT, to end on a positive note: very nice to have a chronically ill character (invisible illness!) that is an actual person (and not just a ticking box for diversity reasons) and who can have a relationship that is equal in supporting, loving, and respecting each other and an actual sex life (yes, with the necessary accomodations). Loved that!
