I love a good mafia romance, but the swan princess retelling aspect of “Black Swan” made a unique twist to this troupe. The story itself is a novella and can make for a quick read, but for a novella, it was packed with so much plot twists, gripping scenes, emotions and resilience.
Octavia is not your normal mafia princess and I loved seeing her resilience and feisty attitude. Her strength and love for her family and wanting to rule her father’s empire was impressive. It’s a nice change to have a goal-driven FMC. I LOVED Dean. He truly loved and cared for her, wanting her to do what made her happy, regardless of what he wanted. Their love story was a 5/5. The plot twists were really good, I didn’t see most of them coming! I easily would have read this as a full length novel. But for a novella, it was perfect and really tied well together at the end.
