as an aroace spec person this was so real. georgia just like me fr.

in all seriousness i liked this book. i think oseman has such a nice writing style for YA and the characters were really lovable. the book for me was a bit hard to get into at first but once i sat down and read it i finished it in one night. imo georgia’s family felt more like plot devices in that one part and i felt like the ending kind of picked up really fast after a lull in the middle.
i absolutely loved how rooney and georgia’s friendship became the centerpiece of the novel. i wasn’t expecting it at all but i’m so glad it went that direction.
miscommunication trope tho makes me wanna smash my head against my desk. while it was incredibly frustrating and made me want to skim read ahead, i do think it was handled well and realistically especially for the characters ages. im not mad at it, it’s just not for me.

overall good book. i wish i had this when i was georgia’s age or even while i was still in high school.
