Lady of Sherwood by Jennifer Roberson

3.0

Less enjoyable for me than lady of the forest, because Jennifer Roberson stuck much more closely to the outlines of the legend in this one, and did a lot less with the demons plaguing both Robin and Will Scarlet. As a result the story was more predictable, less suspenseful. I found myself very tempted about 2/3rds of the way through just to skip to the end and call it a day. It was clear how it would end.

I ended up actually reading the rest rather than skipping it but that was more because this cold sucks and it was too much effort to get up off the couch.

And yes, the book ends the way you might expect. Satisfying enough, not a disappointment I guess, except for how wonderfully Roberson employed those personal demons in book one. It was a shame that she do more with them in book two.
