This novel tells a story about two black artists who, in despite of the circumstances surrounding their first encounter, become close and form a close bond.
However, it also highlights London, black beauty, and black art. Fundamentally, it examines a black man's vulnerability in its purest and most unvarnished state. It demonstrates the psychological toll that prejudice and police brutality take.
I was able to understand everything Nelson said and everything he didn't say because he painted a picture that was so precise and clear.
