I believe Feyre thought she was DEAD at least three times in this book. Wild!

I was swept into this book – the characters dealing with grief and trauma, figuring out love, and digging themselves out of a grave.

I feel like there were many moving pieces in this novel that might be hard to track, and I can see this plot and the sub-plots starting to get a lil messy in future books. But I’m beginning to love different characters and am so interested in this political nightmare between courts, especially at the start of a war.

The summary is hard to describe without spoiling anything from this book OR the first one, but Feyre is VERY depressed, and rightfully so, after the events Under the Mountain. Tamlin is like here are some paints to help you feel better – good luck! Rhysand is like I’m horrible, but let me help you.

Here's the thing that's stopping me from a full 4 or 5 stars: (1) I don't get the mating bond, and honestly feel like it cheapens the romance in these novels. I'll leave it at that since I don't want to spoil too much. I really hope the mating bond is detailed in future books to help paint a better picture of it. (2) There are sometimes continuity errors and plot holes, and while I can't think of any off the top of my head that wouldn't spoil some things, I sometimes scratch my head, wondering what happened to an event or why someone's hair color/features seemed to change.

Regardless, I liked the strategy, the plotting, and the romantic tension. Feyre becomes even stronger in this and starts to build her confidence in herself. I liked how she did A LOT of the work on her own and then had very supportive people around her as she did it. I think some things were a bit predictable.
