Sleepless in Manhattan by Sarah Morgan

2.0

This book was a surprising throwback to the 80's romcoms and dysfunctional notions of romance. The title reference suggested the next decade, so I was prepared for some cheesy stupidity, but not quite on this level. I suppose it was true to form, very predictable and formulaic, so if 80's romcoms is something you miss - this book is for you.

I, however, only finished this book because I was waiting (in vain) for a twist or trope subversion - some deviation from the disgusting outdated form. I was refusing to believe that someone could write this sh..tuff with a straight face in the 21st century. But, here you go, apparently.

I guess this book has the trainwreck "wow" factor going for it, so I am giving it an extra star on that score.
