Rise of the Cinder Fae by Whitney Dean

5.0

Wow wow wow. Where do I even start? Firstly of course it must be mentioned that this is my first 5 star read of 2024 that isn’t a reread! That alone should tell you how phenomenal this book was.

The romance was to die for - admittedly I was sceptical at the start but I grew to love the mmc and his love for the fmc is completely unmatched. The mmc had so much character development and I loved how he changed not only for the fmc and his sister, but also for himself.

The fmc had me cackling at several moments - she was so bold and her banter is unmatched. I loved seeing her grow into herself as the story progressed.

The author really knows how to write characters you just love to hate and the king was one of them. I won’t spoil anything but let’s just say the ending was very satisfying.

In fact speaking of the ending, there were so many twists I literally couldn’t see coming. I tore through the last 150 pages as I couldn’t put the book down - I physically needed to see where the plot was going.
