Another book I picked from StoryGraph’s recommendations for the onboarding challenge. This time the prompt was to pick something from the most popular books of the week. This caught my eye as it won the Costa First Novel award last year, and was available at the library.

I lingered over the book as I was enjoying the gorgeous poetic prose. Then I had to rush the ending as the book was due back. Oops.

It’s a tale about falling in love, and all the emotions and complications that go with that. And was enlightening for me for its depictions of being young and Black in London.

Fab, and we’ll deserving of its prize.
