As always with Morrison, the writing was beautiful and lyrical. The characters are complex, and I loved seeing parallels between Sula and her mother, Hannah, as the story progresses.

The book is emotional and disturbing, but it’s an interesting look at how two women’s   lives intertwine and diverge through their actions and choices.
