Me: Elton John Official Autobiography by Elton John

4.0

I’ve always loved Elton John, but since watching Rocketman I’ve been extra invested in learning more about this man that I actually knew nothing about. I knew he had bangers but I didn’t know anything about his personal life. I really enjoyed his writing - his personality comes through clearly and he’s just a good writer in general. The first half was my favorite part - the beginning, the trials and tribulations of making a name for himself. The second half is where it lost a star for me though. I think I’m just too jaded when it comes to rich people talking about rich people things - but even so, Elton is pretty introspective and acknowledges his privileges. I guess what I’m saying is that I’d read a whole book solely about his life in the 60s/70s.
