Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars for this one. While I enjoyed the 80s references and fast pace, the references themselves were sometimes too detailed and obscure, and the happy ending was a little frustrating. However - the book redeems itself by explaining all the references well (without losing the pace), and continually reminding us that the harsh dystopian reality our protagonists find themselves in /is/ a rather scary place. Overall - easy to read and get stuck into, and I'm interested to see how it is adapted into a film.
