The Epilogue of this book ripped my heart out of my chest, stomped on it, spit on it, and then picked it up off the ground and gave it a warm hug.
This series was so special, and the love that I felt for Tessa, Jem, and Will felt very real. Each character had flaws, but each had their strengths, and I could not help but love each. Throughout this third book, I could not decide who I wanted Tessa to end up with. Jem and Will each felt so deserving of love. This series was the perfect love triangle, and I refuse to hear criticism about Jem or Will - BYE.
When Jem became a Silent Brother? Cried. BUT THE EPILOGUE!!!??? I listened to the Epilogue while walking my dogs, sobbing hysterically, and had to stop walking because I could not catch my breath. Was I being dramatic? Perhaps. Does that matter? No.
I understood that Tessa was immortal, but seeing it laid out so clearly was devastating. I cried when Jem returned, and it felt like a beautiful, full-circle moment to wrap up the book. I couldn't help but cry, knowing Tessa would lose another love and that Jem and Will would be united in the afterlife while Tessa remained on Earth without them. Anywho, the end of this book made me ridiculously emotional, and that's that.
