This book was such a gem!
I stumbled upon this one on NetGalley and the description drew me in. Set in 1970s Boston, Sean comes of age with parents who are still closely tied to the BDP, an auxiliary branch, per se, of the Black Power Movement.
The momentum of the plot is SUPERBLY done. Such refreshing prose and character development.
The sci-fi aspect was not too overwhelming and offered just the right amount of mystery to drive the story forward.
I am being nitpicky, but I would’ve loved MORE. I think Nunnally is such a talent that I didn’t want the story to end.
This one reminded me a lot of THE MARROW THIEVES, poignant, fresh, and engaging while also thought-provoking.
I can’t wait until this one is released!!! I hope others are similarly hyped about it.
