The Indigo Heiress by Laura Frantz, Author is a literary treasure! Laura Frantz continues to outdo herself with the publication of this Georgian novel.
I loved the details on the cover coinciding with details in the story, the fitting quotes and excerpts in the beginning of each chapter, and the intricately detailed history, dialects, etc. all bringing one into the world of Juliet Catesby Buchanan.
I saw how it may have been for women who had no control over their future, yet made their mark on history, and was fascinated by this tumultuous period in history and the surrounding controversies. I adored the tender story of Juliet and Leith as they come to know each other and fight shadows larger than they ever could have imagined.
I was loath to leave their world, but hope to meet them again in future novels. ;) I had so much fun noting the references to Tidewater Bride and A Heart Adrift!
The Indigo Heiress is slow paced in the best way possible, as you settle in, get cozy (although there are a few chilling moments!), and come to know the truest selves of the inhabitants of this book--their deepest hopes, dreams, sorrows, and shadows. As Laura Frantz writes in her acknowledgements, this was truly a magical private conversation between author and reader!
