It got gritty as soon as Chapter 2—not even 15 pages in. There were stomach-turning moments, but it read like a movie. Titus was complicated but appeared cooler than the other side of a pillow as he navigated the chaos, racists, his personal life, and doubts that he was no longer Black since he turned blue. You have to be in the right headspace to read this, but it’s brilliant.
