Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand

4.0

Loved this book. It was beautiful, devastating and hopeful. As I began getting into it, I wondered how boring it would be to spend so much time on Louie floating in the ocean for example, but as I read, I would not have changed a thing. The moments were delicate and still gruesome and intimate. I very much enjoyed this read. I also appreciated that Hillenbrand didn't just deal with ordeal as it happened but took the time to tell the entire story, offering a glimpse of who these men were after they came home and it took for some of them to "survive" their new life back in the United States. Well done.
