Vows & Ruins by Helen Scheuerer

5.0

First of all, this book was WAYYYY HOTTER than book one. Althea and Wilder were like rabbits 😭

I loved book 2 just as much as the first. I felt so many emotions but my biggest was frustration. Thea and Wilder were so dramatic for NO reason but in the best way.

I was genuinely happy they ended up where they were because the first half of the book truly had me ready to throw my entire kindle in the toilet.

Book 2 definitely also made it much easier to love the supporting characters as well. Cal, Kipp, Wren, Audra and Torj too. I had already loved them in book 1 but it intensified here.

There are still a lot of questions needing answers and I’m excited to be able to dive right into Fate & Furies to hopefully find them out because those last few chapters were NOT what I wanted to happen, however I have to believe there was good reason for everything.

Also, let me say that I genuinely hope to see something romantic bloom between Torj and Wren. Even if it isn’t within this series, if they got their own books I would be happy.

Okay back to the overall book. Helen’s writing is captivating and I love that I am able to get completely lost in her books. I lose all sense of time and space and I am just IN THE BOOK with the characters. I have been FLYING through this series because of it. Not to mention how much I appreciate how she writes her spicy scenes. I didn’t cringe ONCE and that is very rare. They were so well written. Especially for there being so many in this book.

This series is easily becoming one of my absolute favorites. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
