Once in a while, you come across a book so exquisite that it makes your heart ache and leaves you brimming with emotion and wanting to befriend all the characters, to be a part of their community. Signal Fires is that book for me.

I was so fully invested and didn't want to put this down. The top review here said a running theme is that "several characters had a hard time sharing their feelings….. but had plenty of feelings". Well, that's exactly how I feel about this captivating, unforgettable and incredibly moving novel!

Everything about this book felt so real and I will be thinking about it for a long, long time.

Favourite quotes:

✨ "Maybe all of them are simply a chorus of souls, light touching light."

✨ "Maybe it's all right to allow his whole being to yearn for the company of one actual person, and not only to be searching for black holes in the universe. Maybe it's all right to risk loving someone."
