Faebound by Saara El-Arifi
2.5
medium-paced

I wanted to like this. I love queer fantasy romance, and I thought the elf/fae concepts without the "European based fantasy world" trappings were interesting.
But I just really didn't find the romances believable at all. They were weirdly rushed. Honestly, I would have liked this book a lot more if the romance was more in the background, because the plot and worldbuilding were interesting.
It also suffered by the related issue of characters jumping to very strange conclusions very quickly, in a way that seems just designed to manufacturer conflict.
In general, it had potential but was disappointing.
