The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Cartoonist by Adrian Tomine

5.0

I simply adored this. This is a such a funny, surprisingly open kinda cringe/fail collection of stories about the author, I can't believe the things that have happened to him. I laughed out loud reading a lot of this. I have been staff at a comic book store where an comic artist was signing and I know exactly how painful it can be lmao very relatable stuff in here and just so honest I really appreciate it.

The art is really nice, the biggest highlight in the novel for me! honestly I think the way the author draws himself is super cute lol Just the way he draws people in general is really charming to me. I love how everything leads up to the insightful final chapter. Really inspiring stuff, this is exactly the kind of work that makes me love comics so much.
