I went into this story blind and I am so glad that I did. The story, told in two timelines, one of memory, sadness, love and loss, the other in a ticking clock. I think I read those pages faster than I have ever read anything previously. The way the writing caused me to fill with dread and a claustrophobic timeliness was masterful. I did not expect such an emotional tale coming from inside of a whale.
