The Good Demon by Jimmy Cajoleas

5.0

WOW. This is one of the best books I've read in a while. SO good.

I'm personally very compelled by the types of magic found within-- angels and demons, gods in hosts, soft yet finite magicks with pentagonal flavor-- and it does nothing but compliment the story and its meanings. Much the same could be said for the characters. Between this and the last book I read ([b:Graceling|3236307|Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1)|Kristin Cashore|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1331548394l/3236307._SY75_.jpg|3270810]) I must have a really soft spot for emotionally dense female protagonists with more power than they know what to call.

There are plenty of truly weird little bits, but it does little to detract and everything to add to the miasma. Do yourself a favor and read this as soon as conceivably possible.
