The Courting of Bristol Keats by Mary E. Pearson

3.0

2.5 rounded up to 3. I was so excited for this book but unfortunately something was just missing for me. The plot felt extremely weak, the romantic tension was over before the halfway point, the characters were flat; I just didn’t feel connected to anyone or invested in what was happening. Also, where the book ended was so weird? It felt like it was over in the middle of a conversation and I had to rewind the audiobook to make sure I didn’t miss something.

As others have noted, while this is supposed to be an adult duology it felt much more reminiscent of a YA coming of age novel with a few swear words and tame sex scenes. Overall super bummed by this and I expected more.
