This series continues to be an absolute pleasure to read, and I enjoyed The Hanging Tree just as much as the previous installments.
The case itself was intriguing to read about, as a lot of pieces of new information were revealed and the amount of people involved in it grew considerably. I have to admit, though, the ending felt a little bit anticlimactic. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying the story.
Among my favourite parts were Peter and Sahra Guleed working together, which I hope develops into a great friendship in the next novels. The appearances of Alexander Seawoll and Miriam Stephanopoulos, as well as their interactions with Peter and Nightingale, also brought me a lot of joy, because they never fail to keep me entertained. I appreciated the appearances of characters we met in the previous books in general, and all of them were a nice touch.
It's also fun to read about Peter and Nightingale developing the Folly, about Peter making a Folly-related to-do list, as well as about Peter meeting other practitioners. Lady Helena and Caroline Linden-Limmer are great characters.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
