Genevieve Wheeler has successfully captured what struggling with mental illness looks like. I physically felt the pain and confusion Adelaide felt. The way her thoughts were written out explains exactly how someone with a mental illness processes. The lies in your head, the feeling that you've done something wrong when you haven't, the need to feel accepted and loved. I hurt for Adelaide. The whole time I wanted to scream that she deserved better. The somewhat happy ending was refreshing and reassuring that life gets better. Definitely what I needed at the moment.
