The Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt
5.0
I absolutely loved this book. I don't think there is another adolescent book like it. Holling Hoodhood and his relationship with Mrs Baker is something that captivates you.
The ways that Holling learns to look outside himself, mainly through the eye opening plays of Shakespeare's, brings to light discrimination and what it truly means to become ones own self.
I will admit that many times I was brought to tears, but I also smiled as Holling had his ups!
