On The Trail to Vulture's Gulp by Samuel M. Hallam

adventurous tense fast-paced

3.5

I really like the premise of this - Western with a supernatural and scary jolt - and the fact that Hallam has more planned for Vulture’s Gulp is very exciting and full of potential. As for this story? It’s good, but it only scratches the surface - I wanted a bit more from the climax, especially as it was a cool idea to blend those two genres. You care enough about the characters over just a few pages for the ending to have impact, which is testament to the writing and world building, but with a little expansion this could have been even better. Still, a quick and enjoyable read - bring on more!
