The second book in the Septimus Heap series and it’s wonderful. There is something about how this author takes the story and walks you around all aspects of it. I really like the different perspectives and the motivations from all the characters. I think that it add depth to all of the people… and animals and gives you a 360 view of the book. I know that some people might not like hearing about how the message rat Stanley was able to arrive in the badlands or the back story of a seemingly unimportant character but I do. To me it’s a new and interesting reading experience.
