The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult

5.0

I love this book. I think that it's very good and well-crafted.
I'm not Jewish, so I can't speak for how a book about Holocaust effects me, but this book did help me to understand the horrors of the Holocaust. I do like that it comes from the perspective of both Minka, a Jewish woman who lived and experienced the Holocaust, and Josef, an SS man during the time of the Holocaust. I like how Minka told us about all her experiences, not just in Auschwitz and the other camps she was in, but also just before the war. My favorite part of this book is definitely the story that Minka was writing throughout the time of WWII, as it was very well written and very entertaining, and the similarities between the story and Minka's experiences were there. I also liked how Josef's story (from his perspective I mean) stopped, and then we hear the time he was in Auschwitz from the perspective of Minka, who didn't see him as a person forced to do horrible things, but rather as a monster, was very, I don't know, cool? Maybe that's the word to use. I don't know what word to use there. This was a good book. I liked it.
