The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead

5.0

What I enjoyed most about this book was that it takes the reader on a journey. There is tension through out and in many ways though it was a hard read because of the harsh realities of that time in our history, it was necessary to the characters and the ancestors to honor the many untold stories of those lost, captured, and murdered. The truth is ugly and you must confront it to heal.

I loved Cora and resilience to keep fighting and I am thankful to the author for the way he chose to finish the story.
