Am immersive, captivating story about a young girl born in America who returns here from her home in Haiti at 16, combining both an immigrant story with an exploration of the complexities of the American Dream for those in poor, urban areas without a lot of options. Highly recommended - I especially enjoyed the audiobook. Here's my full review:
