Was fange ich bloß mit guten weißen Menschen an? by Brit Bennett

2.0

A short collection of essays by Brit Bennett about race. I disliked Bennett's debut novel and mostly liked her second one, so I was curious to see how she'd do non-fiction. This is mostly done in the style of anecdotal pop essay-style with few real arguments and a lot of statements, a style which I rarely find engaging or illuminating.

I liked the essay about black dolls the most, probably because it had some history about black dolls that I didn't know before. Generally, I felt like if you've ever read "discourse" or thinkpieces by Millenial black US-American women before, there's little new in here.
