Even Tree Nymphs Get the Blues by Molly Harper

3.0

This Audible Original novella was an adorable mix of paranormal and just-moved-to-a-small-town romance (and yes, that is a real thing). It felt like watching that TV show Heart of Dixie, but with tree nymphs and dragons. The story was face paced, quirky, and fun - just what I wanted in a quick little romance. At just over 3 hours, it gets you into a cute little story pretty darn quickly.

The characters were interesting. Ingrid was a smart and driven heroine and Rob is a sweet and thoughtful hero. I'm actually sad it was so short because I found myself wanting more of them after it was over with. We get a little bit of character development, but there was just not enough time for a true "arc" or transformation. I haven't read the other books in the series before, but what we got in terms of the side characters was sweet and funny.

Overall, a quick, cute, and romantic story about a little paranormal town in Louisiana and a couple that finds themselves drawn to each other. Is it original? No. Was it cute, funny, and brought a smile to my face? Yes.
