Beartown was easily one of the best things I’ve ever read, and this book followed it up well. What I loved about both books is how every character is so multifaceted. Backman has an incredible way of building up a character as one thing, and then quietly dropping a bomb that makes your heart swell in one breath and breaks it in another. This book, like its predecessor, reminds you that life is both fair and unfair and simple and complicated in all the best and worst ways.
