Gods damn it, these books are ruining my life (non derogatory). Incredibly trope-y and dumb at times, but incredibly fun. I loved the political conflict of this book so much more than the boot camp army brat first book. I still could care less about Violet and Xaden’s love life, though. I didn’t guess the last twist but I did guess Andarna’s twist halfway through the book, so that felt good
