“Love isn't a decision. It arrives unannounced, breeds madness, and leaves a sea of ruin in its wake.”

I knew from the blurb that this book would be amazing. As a big fan of the game Assassin’s Creed IV and Pirates of the Caribbean, it was a must read. Pirates and a female captain? I was hooked. I’ve missed these characters so much that I had to reread it. I’m still obsessed and it is still one of my 2022 top reads.

Everything about this book is brilliant: the writing, the characters, the plot. Bennett Sharp, is a badass. She’s managed to turn her pain and suffering into strength, and she knows that no one can undermine her. Her chemistry with both Ashley Cutler and Priest Farrell is so good.

The plot twists throughout the story are surprising (while rereading it I noticed the subtle hints that I missed the first time). The story takes the reader on so many adventures that not a single moment will bore you.

Anyway, if you haven’t read it I highly recommend it, especially if you like:

x Dark & Historical romance (this is really the perfect combination)
x Enemies to lovers
x Age gap
x One bed trope
