 This book is stunning and I can’t believe I didn’t read it sooner.  The writing is absolutely gorgeous, flowing, and descriptive. I loved Xingyin’s quests and all of the mythology. So much happened in the plot, but it never felt rushed or overwhelming. It was tense, and I was constantly wondering if Xingyin would be discovered before she could free her mother.  The romance was angsty in the best way, and while I don’t usually enjoy a love triangle, this one fit the plot well. There were so many emotions and I loved every minute.
