Hey so this was fucking TERRIFYING??!!!??! I have NEVER read a book that had me feeling such a looming sense of dread and paranoia FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF READING IT. My internal monologue throughout was simply, “NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!”
Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the scariest book I have ever read. I have been haunted by these pages for the past 2 weeks and I truthfully don’t see that ending any time soon. I’m talking full body chills, seeing apparitions out of the corner of my eyes, hearing things I don’t usually…
This was so unbelievably difficult to put down. Following from the perspective of a child is such a unique reading experience that I’ve not come across before, and the way everything was described made it that much more unsettling. The family dynamic contributing to the haunt was as confrontational as you can imagine, and I think if you come from a broken household then this story will hit you where it hurts.
What a whirlwind of a book. My horror content and scare factor expectations have been elevated astronomically.
