I read this book out of curiosity, because I'd been told it was disturbing, and it was, a little bit, but mostly just... boring. It was gross, sure, but it was all just shock value, hinging on being as gross as possible. The narration was interesting at times, and it at least moved quickly, but I honestly would have found it more disturbing and uncomfortable if there had been at least a /little/ subtlety to it.

The main two characters were at least a little plausible, but
I couldn't find the woman who got off on being raped believable at /all/. I could understand convincing herself she liked it as a defense mechanism, but that wasn't how it was played
. It was another point that was clearly just for shock factor.

I did decide to give a half-point, because I at least found the ending entertaining. That was just about the only point anything was left to the audience's imagination.
