Georgie and Darcy are finally married, and he has surprised her with plans for a honeymoon in Kenya. The queen asks Georgie to keep an eye on David while she's there. Although David has been on a tour of the colonies, the queen is very nervous since Wallis Simpson's divorce has gone through. She wants to be certain they don't sneak away to marry. Meanwhile, it appears that Darcy might have had more on his mind than romance when he planned the trip. Apparently he's been asked to look out for a jewel thief.

Once in Kenya Georgie finds she's not just up against a "the American" and a jewel thief. There are swarming ants that can kill a person, illegal drugs, nazis, overly amorous neighbors, unconventional house parties, and a murderer. Can she and Darcy solve the mysteries, still enjoy their honeymoon in this beautiful country and stay alive?

As always I'm thrilled with the latest in the Her Royal Spyness series. Rhys Bown always writes interesting characters and provides a great sense of place and time.

This book felt exceptionally well researched and she even provided a list of sources in the back for those interested in learning more.
