Was it good? Yeah. Was it as good as the hype led me to believe? EHHHH....
The book could've started halfway through for me. I really wasn't interested in Alice's storyline the whole time, or any of the other side characters/quests in the first two-thirds; they mostly just seemed like filler to add in vampire lore. The book could've *easily* been 150-200 pages shorter in my opinion, all to the same effect in the end. There was so much build up established only to rush through the ending in the last 40 pages.
Where the story DOES shine is in Maria's, Sabine's and Charlotte's chapters. These women are what I signed up for- gimme more!
The vibes are great- that part of the hype is real. Sapphic vampires across centuries? Yes please. Though I did expect there to be much more gore.
