This is a re-read for me, I wanted to take 2022 to delve back into some of my favourite series and I read book 1 when it was called Cross Stitch (now Outlander) and I love being back in Jamie and Claire’s world.

This book, the second in the series mainly follows their lives together in the past as the head to France to attempt to change the path of history. I think in this book Jamie’s character develops and for me he is one of the best male characters ever. His relationship with Claire grows and the love between them is strong.

There are some difficult themes throughout this series so if your ready to take on these big chunkers then just take care with some of the content.

It is without doubt one of my favourite series of all time, I love the characters, the setting, although through most of this book I wanted them to return to Scotland. I am probably just biased though being a Scot Inevitably, as history shows their return does not end well for Scotland and the Highland clans.

If you haven’t picked this series up and you love historical, time travelling romance then you can not go wrong with this.
