In this new book world of rotating narrators and jumping around in time, I appreciated this book that retained one point of view and didn't jump around in time. I liked having a deaf character and appreciated the way there could be mishaps in her understanding, but there could also be advantages and strengths that may not readily exist in hearing people.
The character's past struggle with alcoholism didn't show until later, and I felt with it being such a recent struggle it should have been talked about earlier.
I liked that there were several suspects in this whodunit. For the first 2/3 of the book, my money was on someone else. Quick pacing.
